NAHARGARH FORT
Nahargarh Fort, situated on the rugged Aravalli Hills, is a historic architectural marvel located in Jaipur, the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734, the fort served as a defense citadel and later as a retreat for the royal family. The fort's name, "Nahargarh," translates to "abode of tigers," highlighting its strategic location to protect the city from potential invasions. Nahargarh Fort offers stunning panoramic views of Jaipur especially during sunset. Madhavendra Palace, a major part of the fort, houses several suites for the king and his queens, showcasing the opulence of that era. The fort also has a stepwell, temples and a wax museum, making it a popular tourist destination.
