Jaipur weather in October and November is warm by day, dry, and cooler at night. October days usually reach the mid-30s °C, while November days settle around 30 °C with chilly mornings and evenings. Rain is rare in both months.
That makes this one of the easiest times of year to explore the city on foot.
I guide visitors around Jaipur and spend my days with the elephants at our sanctuary, so I see how these months change week by week. Below you will find the real averages, what each part of the day feels like, and exactly what to pack.
Jaipur Weather in October: Warm Days, Dry Air
October is the first month after the monsoon. The rain has mostly gone, the sky clears and the heat slowly eases.
- Average daytime high: about 34 °C (93 °F)
- Average night-time low: about 20 °C (68 °F)
- Average rainfall: around 19 mm, spread over about one rainy day
- Humidity: low, around 30 to 35%
These are the long-term averages for Jaipur airport (1991 to 2020), based on India Meteorological Department data. Early October still feels hot at midday. By the end of the month, mornings turn pleasantly fresh.
The India Meteorological Department describes the post-monsoon weather in Jaipur as generally dry and pleasant, with temperatures falling slowly and steadily. You can read their full climate of Jaipur report for the details.
Jaipur Weather in November: Pleasant Days, Cool Nights
November is when Jaipur starts to feel like winter, especially after sunset. Days are comfortable for long walks, and nights call for an extra layer.
- Average daytime high: about 30 °C (85 °F)
- Average night-time low: about 14 °C (58 °F)
- Average rainfall: around 2 mm, so rain is very unlikely
- Humidity: low, around 30 to 35%
Late November mornings can feel cold on an open rooftop or in an open jeep. The temperature difference between noon and night is large, so plan your clothes in layers.
October vs November in Jaipur at a Glance
- Heat: October is warmer; November is milder.
- Mornings and evenings: fresh in October, cool to cold in November.
- Rain: rare in October, almost none in November.
- Crowds: both are busy, and Diwali week is the busiest.
- Elephant bathing: available in October, not from November to February.
What Each Part of the Day Feels Like
Most weather guides give one number per month. On the ground, the time of day matters more. This is how I plan days for our guests in these two months.
Early morning (6 AM to 10 AM): the most comfortable time of the day. The light is soft, forts are quieter and photos look great. In November, bring a light jacket for this slot.
Midday (10 AM to 3 PM): the sun is strong, especially in October. Choose indoor places such as museums and palaces, or take a long lunch break.
Late afternoon (3 PM to sunset): pleasant again. This is a good time for markets, Nahargarh views and a walk in the old city.
Evening and night: comfortable in October, cool in November. It is a lovely time for the lit-up city; our Jaipur night tour page shows what we cover after dark.
What to Pack for Jaipur in October and November
Pack light, breathable clothes for the day and one warm layer for the evening. This simple list works for most travellers.
- Loose cotton or linen tops and trousers
- A light jacket, fleece or shawl (essential in November)
- A scarf to cover shoulders when visiting temples
- Comfortable walking shoes with good grip for fort ramps
- Socks, because you remove shoes at temples and stone floors can be hot or cold
- Sun hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
- A reusable water bottle
- A small day bag for layers you take off at midday
If you plan to visit the elephants in October, add a change of clothes and a small towel. Bathing with the elephants is part of the experience until the end of October.
What to Wear at the Elephant Sanctuary
Wear clothes you do not mind getting dusty or wet, and closed shoes rather than sandals. The ground can be muddy after bathing time, and elephants like to throw dust on their backs.
In November, the morning at the sanctuary starts cool, so layers help.
Our visit usually lasts 2 to 4 hours, and the sanctuary is 10 to 15 km from Jaipur city centre, about 20 to 25 minutes away. You can see the full experience on our elephant sanctuary in Jaipur page.
Big Events in November 2026
The weather is not the only reason these months are popular. Two big events fall in this window, so book rooms early.
- Diwali: the main day is Sunday, 8 November 2026. Markets and buildings are lit up, and the city is very busy that week.
- Pushkar Camel Fair: 17 to 24 November 2026, as listed by Rajasthan Tourism. Pushkar is a popular trip from Jaipur.
During Diwali week, the air can get hazy from fireworks. If you have breathing problems, check the local air quality before heading out in the evening.
A Simple Day Plan for This Season
Here is how a comfortable day can look in October or November, working with the weather rather than against it.
- Start early with Amber Fort while it is cool; read our guide to the elephant ride at Amber Fort if you plan to go up by elephant.
- Spend late morning with the elephants at the sanctuary.
- Rest or visit an indoor museum during the hottest hours.
- Head to the old city markets in the late afternoon.
- Finish with dinner and the lit-up city at night.

Plan Your Elefriendride Visit
October and November are among the most comfortable months to spend time with elephants, because the midday heat is milder.
The sanctuary is open every day from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the full sanctuary experience costs between ₹2,500 and ₹5,500 per person.
Feeding, bathing (until October), painting, walking and safari are all part of it, and children aged 2 and above are welcome.
