Jaipur Night Jeep Safari: What to Expect After Dark

Last updated: 15 October 2026 · By Mohit Bhat, Elefriendride

A Jaipur night jeep safari is a different way to see the Pink City. You ride in an open jeep after 8:00 PM, climb to hilltop fort viewpoints and look down on the city lights spread across the plain.

The trip lasts about 2 to 3 hours. Here is what happens, what to bring and how to fit it into your Jaipur stay.

Night Jeep Safari at a Glance
  • Start time: after 8:00 PM.
  • Duration: about 2 to 3 hours.
  • Vehicle: an open jeep.
  • Highlights: hilltop fort viewpoints and the lights of Jaipur.
  • Booking: contact us for rates, group size and family bookings.
What You Will See

Fort viewpoints: Jaipur is ringed by the Aravalli hills and old forts. From the high points, the walls and the city below look completely different after dark.

City lights: the whole Pink City glows beneath you, from the old walled city to the newer districts. It is a sight many travellers never see on a daytime tour.

The ride itself: the open jeep, the cool night air and the winding hill roads are part of the fun.

Read more about the city's history and landmarks on the official Rajasthan Tourism website.

How the Evening Unfolds

Around 8:00 PM: the jeep sets off once the city lights are fully on. Have dinner before, or plan a late meal after.

First hour: the drive climbs into the hills, with stops along the way as the views open up.

At the viewpoints: time for photos, a slow look over the city and the quiet of the hills.

The drive back: you return to the city about 2 to 3 hours after setting off.

Best Season for a Night Safari

October to March is the most pleasant time, with cool, clear nights. In December and January, nights can be cold, so warm layers are a must in an open jeep.

Summer nights stay warm, and the open jeep is often the most comfortable way to enjoy them. See our guide to the best time to visit Jaipur for each month.

What to Bring
  • A warm jacket or shawl from November to February.
  • Comfortable closed shoes for stops at viewpoints.
  • A phone or camera with a night mode, and a small power bank.
  • Water and a light snack.
  • Something to tie back long hair in the open jeep.
Night Photography Tips
  • Use your phone's night mode and hold still for a few seconds.
  • Rest your phone on a wall or rail instead of holding it in the air.
  • Turn off the flash for city views; it only lights up the foreground.
  • Take a few shots at each stop, as night photos blur easily.
